For Joomla 1.5:

There is a default plugin which does this. You can call any module position in a content item with the following code:

{*loadposition module_position_name*} - ignore the *

Remember, you have to enable the loadmodule plugin from the Plugin Manager. 

For Joomla 1.0x:

1. Add a user position in the back-end called "content":  From the Template Positions (Site > Template Manager > User Positions)
2. Assign your module to this position
3. Embed the following code into your content: {mosloadposition content}
